Why uniform is essential in school

“School uniform promotes personality over attire and provides a more professional look towards School.”

Uniform plays an imperative role in school. Wearing a uniform is a good idea because it shows that you are a part of a particular organisation. It is a badge of pride and allows students to all look alike. It is believed that the Christ’s Hospital School in England was the first school that used uniforms for students in 1552. Some historians believe that school uniforms were first worn in 1222 at the behest of Stephen Langton.

School uniform is integral to the school, representing its societal reputation. Students of a particular school are identified by the colour of the uniform they wear. Students always keep themselves disciplined and behave as if they are responsible when they move any place outside the school as they know that by wearing their school’s uniform, they are representing their school. In this way, the habit of maintaining discipline is always inculcated among the students.

DEVELOP HABIT OF CLEANLINESS
Students of the school are supposed to wear a neat and clean dress. They always keep their tie, badges, socks, I-cards, shoes, and so on neat and clean. They always ensure that they have all these things with them as they are all part of the uniform. The habit of cleanliness is developed while taking care of all these things.

PROMOTES FEELING OF EQUALITY
Wearing uniform in schools helps students promote equality because all students have to wear the same dress regardless of gender and socio-economic background. On the other side, if schools allow children to wear their clothes, there
There will be competition among the students and those who cannot buy Branded dresses, feeling inferior to them.

SAFETY WHILE GOING ON TOURS AND TRIPS

School uniforms are identification of the schools. They ensure the safety of the students while on tours and trips. Educational tours are part of education, so when students go on a tour /trip, they can easily be identified by the teachers. Students wearing uniforms are more accessible to spot. Every school has a particular set of uniforms with its logo. If any outsider enters the school, it is easy to find him because he will not wear a school uniform.

WEARING UNIFORM SAVES MONEY
A uniform sets a boundary by placing the students in a working environment. It makes them look different as they look at their homes. It separates their school life and homes. Wearing a uniform reduces the pressure on the parents because it is optional for parents of all students to afford the latest and most fashionable dresses. In such situations, parents feel relaxed because their kids must wear school uniforms.

SAVES TIME
Wearing a uniform helps the students to save time. If students have to wear different coloured dresses in school, they waste a lot of time thinking about what to wear the next day as they want to look more intelligent than the others.

HELPS IN FOCUSING LEARNING

When all the students are in the same uniform, they can focus on learning. They will not be concerned about their dresses as all the students have to wear the same clothing. So, uniforms eliminate the need for competition. There are no chances of distraction, and as a result, they can improve their performance.

To conclude, uniform is a good idea as it has numerous advantages. It helps the students to achieve their goals without any distractions.
